CyanogenMod-Based Android 4.4.1 OS is Available for Prepaid Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos in the UK
Owners of prepaid Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos in the United Kingdom now has the opportunity to bring their devices to Android 4.4.1 standard with the CM (CyanogenMod) 11 build. The unofficial software update is usable for both GT-I9082L and GT-I9082. Most features should work in this update except for FM radio and screenshot feature.
Also the primary SIM slot doesn’t work and the HW Composer can’t be used in landscape orientation. The switch between screen resolution may be accompanied with bad animation. Users who are willing to cope with some disabled features and possibly a few glitches should head immediately to the XDA Forums and follow the installation procedure.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is equipped with 5-inch WVGA TFT display, which yields a rather mediocre pixel density of 187ppi. There’s 8Mp rear-facing camera with autofocus, back illuminated sensor, LED flash and 1080p video recording. There’s also a 2Mp front-facing camera.
