Elephone P6000 Will Receive Stock Android 5.0 Update
At the moment, only Google Nexus 6 that arrived originally with Android 5.0 Lollipop and apparently, a smartphone model from China, will be updated with the operating system as well. The Elephone P6000 originally arrived with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and the company’s website has notified users about the upcoming update.
It should be noted that the P6000 isn’t really a contender to premium models. At just $170, the phone can provide only 5-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz MediaTeal MT6732 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM, ARM Mali T760 GPU, microSD card slot and 16GB of onboard storage. There are also support 4G LTE data connectivity, 2Mp front-facing camera, 13Mp rear-facing camera and 2700mAh battery.
Nevertheless, the Elephone P6000 could still deliver decent hardware specs for the price. The performance should be particularly smooth for most activities, because the device runs vanilla Android version. At the moment, there’s no word about the release of Elephone P6000 in areas outside Asia. However, the company has confirmed that FCC has approved the P6000, so there’s a possibility that the phone will be released in the United States.
