Google May Hint the Naming of Android 5.0

Android 5.0Regardless of recent releases, there are still many mysteries in the mobile market, such as when the Apple iPad Air 2 will come and how the Samsung Galaxy S6 will look like. Another is about the naming of Android 5.0. We know that its name will start with L and there are a few possible candidates. Google recently published videos and images of its 16th birthday cake and on top of it, we could see a huge, colourful lollipop. It’s a bit unusual to see a lollipop on top of a birthday cake, so it must have a hidden meaning.

Google may soon announce the Android 5.0, probably in October. A new tablet, the Nexus 9 is tipped for an unveiling event in October 16. This could also be the day when Google will officially announce its latest mobile platform, the Android 5.0. As we have seen in recent years, Google’s naming is based on alphabetical order and they are all desserts, sweet and snacks. The last three were Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat. Thanks to the recently unveiled images, it appears that the Android 5.5 will probably be named the Lollipop.
