Google May Release Android 5.1 Update in February 2015
Android 5.0.1 is the newest Lollipop build and it contains various bug fixes. However, recent reports tell us that a major Android Update will be released and it will be the Android 5.1. The update could arrive in February 2015 and it may include multiple new features. The use of 5.1 naming, instead of 5.0.2 indicates that it doesn’t contain typical fixes.
According to rumors, the Android 5.1 will include a variety of enhancements and bug fixes, such as general improvements in system stability and improved RAM management. There are also fixes for sudden app terminations, WiFi connection issues, notifications issues, Okay Google issues and others. It may also be possible to change the color palette of the Material Design UI.
Overall, the Android 5.1 looks like a quite decent update that worthy the full Android 5.1 naming. Obviously, we should take this report with a pinch of salt because Google hasn’t said anything about such an update. But, it is quite sensible for Google to release a major update in early months of 2015.
It is said that the Android 5.1 will keep the Lollipop moniker, so it won’t be as significant as the transition between Jelly Bean and KitKat.
