HTC May Release the M8 in the UK on Early 2014
The rumor mill has gone a bit crazy once again and consumers in the UK could begin to hear more details of the successor of HTC One, internally known as the M8. @evleaks told us that the phone will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 5-inch full HD display and Android 4.4 KitKat. This configuration may not sound particularly impressive for a phone released in 2014, but considering that the original HTC One is equipped with Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor and 4.7-inch full HD display; the M8 is still a worthy successor.
It’s necessary to note that the original HTC One was called internally as the M7 and it was rumored to arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. However it ended up arriving with the more improved Snapdragon 600. We can be hopeful we would see a repeat of this and the M8 will launch with a new processor generation.
To make it a success in the UK market, HTC needs to introduce some real innovations with the phone. The combination of UltraPixel camera, BoomSound and BlinkFeed may no longer be appealing for UK consumers in 2014. There’s no word on the actual release date, but the phone should arrive before the third quarter.
