HTC Will Release a One M8 Variant Optimized for Android 5.0 Lollipop
HTC has promised about the release of Android 5.0 software for its flagship, the One M8. Quite recently, a new version of the device, with internal codename 0P6B has acquired the Bluetooth certification. The device could simply be a One M8 model optimized for Lollipop platform and combined with the company’s proprietary Sense UI. It doesn’t mean that HTC will release its Lollipop in coming weeks, but we could be certain that an update will soon arrive. It should be noted that HTC and other major manufacturers have acquired a developer preview release of the Android L, so they should have enough to get prepared.
For subscribers of AT&T, Verizon and other carriers, we should keep in mind that such a device will need to pass through providers’ own certification; so on-contract models will arrive much later. Such a procedure may take time to complete and it could be 3 months before subscribers could get a HTC One M8 with Lollipop operating system
The HTC One M8 is a typical high-end device with 5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor (with different clock rate depending on the market) and aluminium chassis. There’s also 16/32GB of internal storage and 2600mAh battery.
