HTC One 2 Will Be Available in Early 2014
HTC may release its new flagship in early 2014, possibly on February or March. As revealed by the UK judge Richard Arnold, the phone would be a direct successor of the original HTC One. This piece of information emerged during a patent trial case of Nokia against HTC. The Finland-based company claimed that HTC will release the HTC One 2 in Q1 2014 and since HTC’s lawyer didn’t seem to dispute the claim, the judge concluded that this statement is valid.
During the trial we didn’t see the photos and specifications surrounding the HTC One 2 were revealed.
The HTC M8 is widely believed as the strong candidate for the One 2 and it could be powered by 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 GPU. It also packs 5-inch 1080p display, 4Mp UltraPixel camera on the back, 2.1Mp front-facing camera and HTC Sense 6.0 UI on top of the Android 4.4 KitKat.
The overall design is pretty much comparable to the international version of the current HTC One. Previously, the UK judge ruled that the Taiwan-based company can no longer sell the One Mini in the United Kingdom. However, after an appeal HTC was allowed to resume the sales, since the infringed part of the phone is embedded inside Qualcomm’s provided component.
