Xiaomi is Also Affected by Overheating Issues of Snapdragon 810
Sony has admitted recently that its two devices, the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3+ have been affected by overheating issues due to issues with Snapdragon 810 SoC. The same problem has affected also affected HTC camps, turning their top-shelf models into warming trays. In addition, the HTC Butterfly J also has problems with its touchscreen display. Xiaomi Mi 4 is designated as a high-end model as well and the overheated Snapdragon 810 also causes similar difficulties.
Xiaomi already patented a handful of thermal control methods that have been applied on the Mi Note Pro. But if they could ward off overheating issues associated with the Snapdragon 810, we won’t see much delay. It is not known whether Xiaomi could effectively deal with this issue. In fact, the company is waiting for the release of Snapdragon 820, which indicates that something is wrong with the Snapdragon 810 implementation. We heard reports that the Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus will be equipped with the upcoming Snapdragon 820 under the hood.
It is hoped that the new SoC will contribute to lower heat accumulation. It means that Xiaomi’s future high-end models won’t be available until Snapdragon 820 is mass produced. Regardless, it’s best to wait a little longer for the official announcement.
